Apple Cider Rooibos Latte
Share
A cozy, caffeine-free fall drink that combines Wolf Ember Apple Cider Rooibos with warm milk and a touch of maple. It has the comfort of spiced cider with the creaminess of a latte.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons Wolf Ember Apple Cider Rooibos tea, or the amount recommended for one strong cup
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1 to 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup or honey, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- Optional: tiny pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon stick for garnish
Step-by-step instructions
1. Steep the tea.
Add the Apple Cider Rooibos to 3/4 cup hot water and steep for 5 to 7 minutes, or according to the package directions. For a latte, brew it slightly stronger than you would for a regular cup of tea.
2. Warm the milk.
Heat the milk until steaming but not boiling.
3. Add the flavoring.
Stir the maple syrup or honey, vanilla, and cinnamon into the warm milk.
4. Froth the milk.
Use a handheld frother, whisk, or French press to create a light layer of foam.
5. Build the latte.
Strain the tea into a mug, then slowly pour in the warm spiced milk. Spoon the foam over the top.
6. Finish and serve.
Add a light dusting of cinnamon or a tiny pinch of nutmeg if desired. Serve warm.
Iced version
Steep the tea strong, then let it cool completely. Fill a glass with ice, add the tea, maple syrup or honey, vanilla, and cinnamon, then stir well. Pour cold milk over the top and finish with cold foam if you like.
Wolf Ember tip
Because Apple Cider Rooibos already carries warm fruit and spice notes, keep the sweetener light at first. Taste before adding more so the tea remains the main flavor.
